May is Older Americans Month. This year, the theme “Unleash the Power of Age” is meant to celebrate the active, vibrant and influential roles Older Americans hold in our communities. We will honor our residents, 60 years and older, on Wednesday, May 29 at the weekly Mayfield Heights lunch at Ross DeJohn Community Center. Entertainment by the Forever Young Tappers and local older adult crafters will make the event special. Call 216-650-4029 by Wednesday, May 22 to reserve a meal.

Also in May, we will recognize the significant accomplishments of our volunteers at the annual Volunteer Luncheon. In 2012, more than 200 volunteers and volunteer groups donated over 9,100 hours of service to help the agency meet the needs of the residents we serve. Their energy and commitment allow us to extend our reach far beyond what we could accomplish without them. With heartfelt appreciation, we will honor our invited volunteers at the annual luncheon.
