With the support of our local fire departments and our sponsors, CPA raised over $4500 to benefit the Safe at Home Program, which will enable us to install safety equipment in the homes of eligible older adults for a nominal fee. If you or someone you know could benefit from safety equipment such as a grab bar for your shower, or from a free in-home environmental assessment by one of our social workers, please let us know. The application is available by clicking on or forwarding this link: www.communitypartnershiponaging.org/documents/safe-at-home-application.pdf or by calling our main office at 216-291-3902.

Safety equipment installed in the homes of older adults can reduce falls, injuries and hospitalizations – or worse. Falls are among the most serious of risks to older adults and in 2011, cost Ohioans $4.2 billion. According to the Ohio Department of Health, home safety modifications to the home to prevent falls by older adults yield an estimated $3 for every $1 invested.
